[CDF Webinar promotion]: CDF officially launches webinar program!

Jacque Salinas

Hello folks!

Coming soon to a computer screen near you... Tune in for the CDF's 1st webinar! Please help us promote this upcoming webinar to help drive registration. Cheers!

Webinar Title: Evolving Your Pipeline for Microservices Management with DeployHub

Webinar Host: Tracy Ragan, CEO of DeployHub & CDF Governing Board Member

Webinar Date & Time: May 26, 2020 @ 11am PST.

Webinar Summary: As you migrate to microservice you will quickly begin to see that your CD pipeline needs some tweaking. With microservices you shift your focus to pushing loosely coupled and independently deployed services to your cluster versus installing a complete software application. You no longer have a broad packaging step that defines an application version in the same way as you do in traditional methods. Tracking your application versions is still critical to the overall health of your CD pipeline from tracking change requests to making data-driven decisions about new releases. In this webinar, we will review how you can use DeployHub to map and version the logical view of your application even when it has been decoupled. We will show how DeployHub evolves your CD pipeline to support a microservice implementation while still tracking your application’s complete configuration.

[Podcast promotion] The Pipeline: All things CI/CD & DevOps hosted by the CDF (launching 1st episode)

Jacque Salinas

Hello all,

I am so excited to announce the first episode of The Pipeline: All things CI/CD & DevOps Podcast is officially launching on April 27, 2020!

We would greatly appreciate it if you could share via your social channels. I have included a link to our tweet and LinkedIn post for you to like, share, or comment. I've also attached a promotional soundbite if you feel like putting your own spin on the tagline.

Episode 1:  Configuration Management - Needed Now More Than Ever

Episode Summary:

Tracy Ragan serves as the CDF Board Member Representative and is the CEO of DeployHub, the first microservice management platform.  In this episode we will explore the new world of microservice development and discuss why configuration management is more critical today than it has ever been. With the diminishing role of the compile/link process in a microservice architecture, the process of configuration management has shifted to run-time where services are loosely coupled. Tracy will explain how this shift impacts everything from managing change requests to updates of microservices to your cluster.

Re: Security SIG: meeting schedule through 2019

Kay Williams

Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out.  We haven’t set this up yet for 2020, as a number of the sig participants have been focused on activities in the Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) Working Group (see https://www.it-cisq.org/software-bill-of-materials/).

If folks are interested in more information, or in joining the SBOM working group, let me know.

CD Summit EU: CFP Application & Sponsorship Prospectus

Jacque Salinas

Hello all,

We wanted to communicate that we have officially announced that we will move forward with planning CD Summit EU 2020 in Amsterdam, NL on March 30, 2020. This is a day zero event held the day prior KubeCon+CloudNativeCon EU.

We want to extend the invitation to all of our members to participate in CD Summit EU through a few ways:

  1. Volunteer to be a speaker at CD Summit EU 2020. CFP application opened last week and will close Feb. 7, 2020.
  2. Help out by tweeting, retweeting, or creating your own content and promoting through your own handles.
  3. Join the planning working group
    • Send a note to Christie Wilson
  4. Sponsorship for every budget tier available
    • Review the prospectus attached!
    • Be a diamond, gold, or silver sponsor!
    • We also have lunch, mindshare cocktail hour, diversity & inclusion scholarships, and session recordings!

We sincerely appreciate all your contributions. We can't wait to kick off our events in 2020 with a bang but we can't do it without your help. Please let us know how you can participate. Thanks!

Jacqueline

Wtg Dan!  This is a great, lighthearted read that outlines the seriousness of the topic.  I really appreciate your fun treatment, and especially the call to action at the end.  Well done, way to ring in the new year!

Sorry for the spam since I wrote this, but over the holidays I wrote up a blog post outlining some of the security problems I see facing OSS, and how I hope this the CDF and this SIG can help address them.
